3D scanning can be used to transform spaces into immersive digital twin models. These virtual twin models are highly realistic virtual environments that make the viewer feel like they are really in the location. Rooms can be connected to create a truly interactive 3D model of a space which can be viewed from almost any angle. The viewer gets a 360°  view whilst exploring from a first-person viewpoint.

An Engine 47 digital twin is an accurate virtual 3D model of a physical place (whether it is just one room or an entire building).

Using HTML iFrame tags a completed twin can be embedded in your company website to fully illustrate the completed building project. All digital twins are hosted on secure servers so they can also be sent via email to colleagues or prospective clients – all communication with our servers use encrypted channels (via HTTPS), and all projects can only be discovered if the specific link to that space is shared. The 3D model can be viewed by anyone with a computer, smart phone or tablet that is connected to the internet.

Not only will viewers be able to virtually walk through 3D model, but they will also be able to see an overview of any floors scanned (like a doll’s house).

Marker tags can be added to points of interest throughout the 3D model. When a viewer clicks on these points they will be able to read more information about it.

Facilities Management

3D scans can also be an effective and efficient method to survey existing buildings and report on the layouts and conditions to manage maintenance and develop remodelling plans.

For existing buildings a visual record of the assets you have on site can be created. Marker tags can be used to label equipment, and to document repairs, maintenance, and training information. The 3D model can be easily shared with your maintenance personnel and can help to eliminate hundreds of documents needed to locate and keep track of maintenance data. All relevant information as to where specific machinery is located can be found without having to depend on other personnel.

Coordination between distant engineering project teams and manufacturers can be improved with a 3D model that is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. This is an excellent way for stakeholders to collaborate and suggest changes in a natural way.
